What is a biostimulator?
Did you know that on average majority of people start losing collagen in their mid-twenties? Collagen loss depletes with age therefore leading to wrinkles and sagging skin. One way to restore the loss collagen is biostimulator injections. A collagen biostimulator consists of a substance that is injected into the deep dermis, the middle layer of the skin. Once injected the substance will stimulate one’s own collagen production. This minimally invasive treatment has little to no downtime. The effect is gradual; results are generally visible a few months after the initial treatment and last up to two years.
Radiesse is a semi-solid, injectable dermal filler that can be used to smooth wrinkles and folds, correct volume loss, and improve skin texture. It's made of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) gel microspheres, which are a biocompatible material that's been used in medicine for over 20 years. CaHA stimulates the body's natural collagen production and provides a scaffold for connective tissue production. Radiesse is considered nontoxic and hypoallergenic, but there are can be risks associated with the treatment as with any injectable.

Sculptra is a gel-like dermal filler that's injected into the face to treat fine lines, wrinkles, and other facial issues. It's made of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a collagen stimulator that encourages the body to produce more collagen. Collagen is a protein that provides structure and support to the skin, bones, cartilage, and connective tissues. As people age, their skin produces less collagen, which can lead to wrinkles and a loss of elasticity. Sculptra can help repair the skin's underlying structure and restore its natural collagen.
